The most up-to-date information on bookings will be posted here, as well emailed to my mailing list, which you can sign up for [right here]. I recently migrated my existing newsletter to substack — if you’d signed up before, you’re still on the list!

COVID-19

I require clients, regardless of vaccination status, to attend appointments alone and masked up. For full information on COVID risk factors and preventative measures, please review this page.

Location

I work at Sharpest Tool, a private studio in Toronto close to Lansdowne/Bloor, located on a second floor walk-up. An address will be provided to clients when we discuss appointment details.

For any potential clients unable to access this space, alternative arrangements can be made to tattoo at a wheelchair-accessible studio. To discuss any accessibility needs please let me know during the submission period or through email!

Bookings

My books are currently closed. My next booking period will be March-April 2025, and I will open my books for that period in February.

I typically book every ~3 months by posting a link to a form where you can submit your tattoo concept and all relevant info. I read through every submission (it's not first-come-first-served) and select projects based on concept and availability for the next round of bookings.

I use a mailing list newsletter for very occasional email updates. This will be the most reliable way to be notified when I open my books. If you would like to sign up, please add your email to this substack!

Process

Generally, I focus on detailed works of animals and plants. I accept all kinds of projects though, including ones that may seem 'off-brand' to my portfolio, so please don't feel pressured to tailor your idea submission a certain way if you think I would be a good fit!

Unfortunately I do have to turn down a number of submissions, but I never decline on the basis of skin tone, body type, scarring, etc. Please only disclose what you’re comfortable with, or feel is relevant for the piece.

I require a non-refundable deposit to book (see deposit info below).

If your submission is selected, I may suggest a more in-depth consultation to iron out details. This may take place in person or online at your convenience.

A couple days before the appointment, I will email a rough sketch. You may suggest any revisions you would like to see in the piece. After we've settled on the composition I will work on a fully detailed version, which will be ready for you to check out on the day of your appointment before we get started.

Rates + Payment

As of 2023, I charge per-piece for most ‘small - medium’ sized pieces. Below is an approximate guide:

  • 4” x 4” or ‘palm size’: $200-350

  • 7” x 4” or ‘hand size’: $350-550

  • 7” x 7”: $600-800

  • 8.5” x 11”: $850-1000

Anyone I take on as a client may ask for a quote before finalizing a booking. The quote isn’t solely based on size but also placement and detail — I don’t want to incentivize choosing the smallest possible size solely for the sake of cost savings! Bigger pieces are often easier + more fun for me to work on and I will do my best to quote in a way that reflects that.

For larger works (>4hrs) or complicated placements that make giving quotes difficult, I will charge an hourly rate of $200/hr.

An opt-in sliding scale option will be available through my booking form. This is a pricing option scaled to 60-90% of full price (e.g. a piece that is normally $200 will be priced instead at $120-180). I do not require any personal disclosures to choose this option, but I request that clients reflect on their positionality before selecting it.

Cash is preferred. E-transfer and Paypal are also accepted. Tips are always appreciated but never expected! There is no standard protocol on tipping, it is at your discretion.

Deposits

I require a non-refundable $80 deposit to book ($150 for large multi-session work), which will be subtracted from the total cost of your tattoo on the day of the appointment. If your project requires multiple sessions, your deposit will be subtracted from the final session.

You will forfeit your deposit if:

  • I have drawn a final design and you decide not to get the tattoo.

  • You request significant or numerous revisions to the design counter to what we have agreed upon in consultation.

  • You cancel without 48 hours' notice, or no-show. Another deposit will be required to re-schedule the appointment.

  • You arrive more than 15 minutes late without prior notice.

If you need to re-schedule your appointment (with at least 48 hours' notice), your deposit will continue to be applied toward your final tattoo session.
